What it means
Nehemiah spoke these words to people who were weeping as they heard God's law read aloud. Instead of grief, he told them to celebrate and share food with those who had none — "for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
It's a bright, generous slogan for festivals, fun days and anyone who brings cheer to a room.
Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared, for today is holy to our Lord. Don’t be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
